Privacy policy
Last updated 2 October 2026
This policy explains what MetUpIn (metupin.com) collects and how it is used.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash) and optional phone number.
- Profile: what you choose to write — role, city, hometown, prompts, interests, languages and optional LinkedIn or Instagram links.
- Activity: connection requests, messages, shortlists, meetup sign-ups, feedback and reports.
- Payments: plan, amount, payment reference and, for UPI payments, the screenshot you upload. Card and bank details are handled by our payment partner Razorpay and are never stored by us.
Who can see what
- Other members see your first name, last initial and profile.
- Your full name and social links are shown only to people you are connected with, and only if you allow it in Settings.
- Messages are visible to the two people in the chat. To keep members safe, our team may review conversations to investigate reports, suspected scams, harassment or other misuse of the platform. Every review is logged, and we never use your messages for advertising.
- Your email and phone number are never shown to other members.
How we use it
To run the service, show your profile to members, process payments, organise meetups, keep the community safe and reply to support requests. We do not sell your personal data.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers needed to run MetUpIn (hosting, payment processing) or when required by law.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, hide it from the Counter, or delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting your account removes your profile, connections and chats. Payment records are kept as required for accounting and tax purposes.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.
Privacy requests
Write to hello@metupin.com for any question or request about your data. We respond to privacy requests within 30 days.
